VALUE OF OUR WORK

Last month we asked for your feedback to 3 short questions. Your replies were fantastic and we thank everyone for your valuable feedback. The names of everyone who replied were placed in a hat and the 3 lucky winners each won a $100 Gift certificate to the restaurant of their choice. Enjoy!

The overwhelming theme to most of the replies we received were that customers wanted a high quality job for a low price. While we always strive to give you the best price possible, what I like to stress to our customers is VALUE. There is value in painting your property and there is different value to different paint jobs.

A low price is great, however that usually means corners have to be cut. There are many ways to cut corners, such as…using lower quality products that may fail or fade sooner than they should, cutting the prep work which can cause even high quality paint to fail sooner, subbing work out to others who are not the company’s employees (which opens up the HOA or property owner to increased liability and financial risk). That last one I know from personal experience…as well as many other problems. Getting a high quality paint job usually means the price will also be higher than the “low-bid”. Paint jobs can be of Low Value or they can be of High Value. The low price of a Low Value job may be wonderful at first but how long will it last? A High Value job may cost more initially but it will last and look better longer and will eliminate the need to paint as often which will, in turn, ACTUALLY SAVE YOU MONEY. When a property has to paint more often, it didn’t save anything!

Important questions to ask your contractors that will help you get a High Value job: What material will be used? Don’t just ask if they will prep but ask “What prep work will be done?” What will be caulked and what won’t? How long have they been in business? (Contractors that have been is business longer typically use better quality materials and techniques because they’ve learned, the hard way, the problems caused by using the low price stuff doesn’t pay off for them or their customers. And no one that I’ve ever talked to needs any more problems in their life, that’s for sure!). And make sure they won’t sub the work out to someone else because in the paint industry, it sure does happen.

I bet everyone can relate to buying something for cheap and then a short time later you are disappointed because it didn’t last as long as you thought it should. Buy Value, buy things that will last.

We love painting the large properties and if you want a paint job that will last a long time, give us a call at 818-951-3207. You can also fax or e-mail us. Alena, my assistant extraordinaire, will be happy to write up your request and hand it over to our friendly estimator George. All the Best, Greg Lewis
